FedEx is on their way!

today i am at home working on stuff for the DR and waiting for FedEx to pick up the 13 boxes sitting in my living room! maybe he would like to get his picture on my blog! if so you will soon be meeting our FedEx man. :) it's only 4 days until we leave for the DR and we are very excited! i've been working on the curriculum for the Worship Clinic my friend Ian and I are over seeing and Torre has been busy collecting medical/hygiene supplies and organizing his team for the Medical Clinic. there is a good amount of stuff to do still but everything will get done, as much as possible, and it's all going to be awesome because God's going to use it! stay tuned and you may get to meet Mr. FedEx! :)

it's just "see you later"

yesterday a few of our beloved friends from NH came down to visit and say "see you later" before we leave Boston next wednesday. this good bye definitely feels different from other good byes i've had. in the past i've often felt like things were coming to a big end and then a big new beginning...i'm not always that good with either...but this time it feels very much like a continuation. it's so interested how God changes us for our own good, because the me today was not the me a few years ago. :) thanks Lord for always loving me the way you know i need it most.

getting closer!

OUR PASSPORTS & VISAS ARRIVED JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO!!! Once we get our flights confirmed we are all set to go! SO EXCITED!!!

Last night Torre and I finished packing and weighing everything that is being shipped to Cali. for storage. I can't believe how much stuff we have gotten rid of and yet everything we are keeping still amounts to 13 boxes totaling approximately 650lbs. We love our heavy belongings I guess. :) Now that that's all done we can request a pick up from FedEx for next week and it's all on it's way! We've come quite far since we moved from AZ to NH which consisted of my Toyota Tacoma, a Uhall trailer and Torre's Toyota Celica all packed to the brim (yes, we are a Toyota Family! Or...we WERE a Toyota family...maybe someday we will be again when we have a car). Now 13 boxes, 4 duffles and 2 carry on's lighter we are all set for an unbelievable adventure!!!

My husband being brilliant and showing off how strong he is for me. ;)

The blanket alone was almost 4lbs!

phase 2

sunday our big fluffy couch went to a new home and today everything but the mattresses and the kitchen table will join a new family as well. it's strange how sad saying good bye to a couch can be. *tears* i guess i'm kind of sentimental since they've been with us since we got married. so, good bye couch. good bye dresser. good bye end tables...carpets...mirror. i'm happy you are going to good homes.

good bye comfy chair :(

i'll miss our quiet times together.

T-46 days and counting!

since i last wrote, i kind feel like i did when i was about to get married. as soon as my beau proposed i was off like a flash of lighting doing everything i possibly could to get things rolling for the big day! then...i waited. there was a period of a few months between the big stuff and waiting to take care of the little stuff...which seemed like forever...where there just didn't seem to be much i could do. then of course it came down to the last few weeks when it felt like there wasn't enough time to do it all! *(cue final weeks till the move) after we submitted the paperwork for our visas and spent a weekend or two continuing to organize the apartment into "keep", "store", "give away", "good-will", "sold" and "i have no idea" piles, there just hasn't been much to talk about. probably the biggest news since is that torre was approved by the medical board of new zealand! yeah...i think that does constitute something to say. my bad. well now you know! we are still waiting for our visas to go through though. and while we wait we have a very busy few weeks ahead of us! only 19 days until we leave for the Dominican Republic to serve with G.O. Ministries for a week! We are so excited to see friends from last year and to be able to bring much needed medical supplies, love and encouragement to the Vargas family and all the nationals we have the opportunity to serve!!! that also means that we only have 19 days left in Boston. :( it's always sad to be moving away from a place and people you've come to love and share life with, but it's pretty exciting to be moving in a new direction anticipating all that God has in store. :) we will be traveling for the entire month of august so please keep us in your prayers as we go. we will be visiting family in several locations, celebrating a family wedding and wrapping it all up with the grand finale...our exit of the Americas! how am i feeling at this point? tired, eager, like i can't wait till every things packed and shipped to storage, praying that i don't rush through and miss one second of the time we have left in Boston with friends and my sister, and extremely exited for what's ahead. what's next? laundry. :)
